I was raised in Carmel. Eighteen years ago my husband Rick and I settled here permanently to raise our three children. I am a Carmel High School and Ball State graduate, and my professional background is in marketing, real estate, and municipal public relations.
I’m proud to have served Carmel on the City Council since 2016. Property taxes are low, our infrastructure is strong, our neighborhoods are safe, and our city has consistently been rated one of the best places to live in America over the last four years. I serve as Vice President of the Council, and am the council’s appointee to the Carmel Plan Commission.
I currently serve as Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party. Prior to becoming Chairman, I served as the Executive Director of the Republican Party. I have also worked in marketing in commercial real estate, and in public relations. I have worked on city image campaigns, and understand that Carmel is competing with cities on a national basis for corporate headquarters, businesses, and families who want a safe community to live in, with low taxes, great schools, and amenities.
One of my priorities has been and will continue to be public safety. I graduated from the Carmel Citizens Police Academy in 2010, and thoroughly enjoyed that experience. I recommend the class to anyone who is interested in learning more about our police department, and the training that officers go through to keep our community safe.
I have always had an interest in local government, and have wanted to be in public service. After working on many campaigns, I decided that now is the right time for me to run for public office, as I have the time to commit to serving on city council. I have enjoyed grassroots campaigns, going door-to-door and making calls to voters, and appreciate the feedback that I get from talking to voters. I have found that overall they enjoy low taxes, great schools and the amenities that Carmel provides. I want to make sure that Carmel continues to be considered a top city to live in, as it has been rated by national media.
I believe that elected officials should be careful stewards of taxpayers' money, and as a pragmatic fiscal conservative, I will consider each project and issue that comes before the council.
I have been excited to serve the Northwest District of Carmel, and am excited to serve again. I welcome your involvement in my re-election campaign and you can click "Volunteer or Donate" to help.
